Across our sites, our employees demonstrate incredible generosity and dedication to making an impact in the local communities. We’re proud to highlight a number of the causes that resonate with our team and the difference they are collectively making through our Charitable Giving Programme and other community initiatives.

Cleveland Corporate Challenge: Supporting the TBI Warrior Foundation

Among some of the donations and fund-raising activities, we have a team in Cleveland representing Team Wendy in the Cleveland Corporate Challenge. They’ll be taking part in a number of sporting events to earn prize money for a charity of their choice over the next two months. This year, they are supporting the TBI Warrior Foundation; a foundation committed to improving the quality of life for those affected by brain injuries and associated disabilities.

Cadillac Career Day: Inspiring the Next Generation

In Cadillac, Chandlar Gabara, Continuous Improvement Leader, represented Avon Protection at a local school career’s day in May. In addition to sharing his insights into a career in manufacturing, he also engaged the students in continuous improvement approaches and lean thinking activities, inspiring them to think about team effort and working in cross-functional teams.

Supporting the Royal Marines Charity: A Marathon Effort

In the UK, our colleagues in Melksham donated to Jack Stewart-Richardson, a Royal Marines Commando who ran the London Marathon this year wearing a Avon Protection GSR mask. Jack’s marathon effort supported the Royal Marines Charity, which offers mental health support, financial assistance, and mobility aid to serving and former Royal Marines and their families.

Paralympic Support: Innovating for Mel Nicholls

Our Materials Innovation Group has been supporting Mel Nicholls, a Paralympic endurance athlete, in her journey to the Paralympics in August. The team are helping to develop specialised gloves and recently donated towards her sponsorship, aiding her quest for success.
