Partnering with VisionCorps
12 June 2024
VisionCorps, an agency of the National Industries for the Blind, empowers individuals who are blind or visually impaired through employment and skills development, aiming to support their access to personal and economic independence.
In June, a group of fearless individuals from Team Wendy participated in the VisionCorps Eye Drop Rappelling Event in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, bravely descending the side of a 120-ft. building. This is the fifth year Team Wendy has supported the event, and the second year Team Wendy has participated.
VisionCorps, an agency of the National Industries for the Blind, empowers individuals who are blind or visually impaired through employment and skills development, aiming to support their access to personal and economic independence.
Team Wendy works with VisionCorps to support some of these jobs as part of a contract with the U.S. government, enabling them to play a crucial role in distributing Team Wendy’s Zorbium™ Action Pad (ZAP™) adjustable helmet liner system to ground combat units in the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and U.S. Navy.
VisionCorps receives the pad sets, which have gone through the entire manufacturing process from Team Wendy in fabric-sealed sheets. Their employees then carry out various functions including screen printing, dying, cutting, and packaging, to ship them out to U.S. military units and other customers. Approximately 75% of Team Wendy’s Zorbium™ Action Pad (ZAP™) helmet liner pads are sent to VisionCorps through this government contract.
We value our partnership with VisionCorps and look forward to participating in the 2025 rappelling event and continuing our sponsorship.
